Samsung Galaxy S23 eSIM Guide for Travellers
The Samsung Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra all support eSIM, making them excellent travel companions. Here's how to get set up before your next trip.
S23 eSIM setup — step by step
- Open Settings → Connections → SIM Manager
- Tap 'Add eSIM' or 'Add mobile plan'
- Choose 'Scan QR code' and point your camera at your eSIM QR code
- Confirm activation and label the eSIM (e.g. 'Travel Data')
Using dual SIM on the Galaxy S23
The S23 supports one physical nano-SIM and one eSIM simultaneously. Set your home carrier SIM as primary (for calls and SMS) and your travel eSIM as the data SIM. You'll keep your usual number active while using cheap travel data.
S23 eSIM compatibility notes
Some carrier-locked S23 units may restrict eSIM to the locked carrier only. If you bought your phone on a contract, check whether it's unlocked before travel — most carriers unlock phones after 12 months.
Which countries work with S23 eSIM?
Samsung's eSIM is supported in most countries worldwide. The main exceptions are some markets in Asia (notably China) where eSIM was not enabled at launch. Check your specific regional model if you're unsure.
